Saint Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt

The church was built in Egypt, near the Nile River, in the city of Cairo. She is Orthodox. Built in 1925. The district of the city is called Shubra.

Builders have been looking for a place to build a long time. As a result, a place was chosen on Massarra Street.

The church has icons of both St.Mary and icons of Jesus Christ (his disciples).

According to legend, Mary and Josev were one in Egypt. Religious books mention their flight. Why Cairo was chosen by them is not so difficult to guess. This is because Cairo is both the center of the country and the influx of refugees and tourists.

The church was erected at a time when Cyril 5 Alexandria was in the post of Pope of the Copian Orthodox Church.
Then a group of peasants united for construction. The construction period lasted about 3 years. As a result, the construction was completed and collects the parish to this day. Most of the masses are held for the study of the Bible.
